What can I expect?
Skip the lines to the Vatican with these priority access tickets. and see all the major artistic and architectural highlights inside the Vatican City.
This jam-packed morning tour begins inside the Vatican museums, where you will see the highlights of arguably the most important collection of art in the world. This includes the Sistine Chapel, of course. You also pay a visit to the stunning St. Peter's Basilica. All of this during only three hours!
After your tour of the Vatican, you can set off on your own and head for the Colosseum. There will be two lines at the entrance of the Colosseum: a very long line for people without tickets, and a very short line. Head for the latter and walk straight into the magnificent amphitheatre. It's recommended that you devote between two and three hours to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill archaeological areas.

Your ticket will be e-mailed directly to you shortly after your booking is complete. Present the ticket on your mobile phone.
Where does the tour begin?
The tour departs from the When In Rome Tours meeting point. The address will be on your e-ticket. Please be there 15 minutes before the tour starts
Where does the tour end?
The guided tour ends at St. Peter's Basilica, where you'll be given directions to the Colosseum.
How long does the tour last?
The guided tour of the Vatican lasts approximately 3 hours.
Is Necropolis a part of the tour?
No, this tour does not include Necropolis as only the Vatican can administer tours of this area.
When can I visit the Colosseum?
Your timed entrance ticket to the Colosseum is valid the same day in the afternoon.
Is there a dress code?
Yes, entrance into religious sites requires a strict dress code. Knees and shoulders must be covered for all individuals. When in Rome Tours and Ticmate cannot be held responsible for refused entry due to improper dress.
Important information
- This tour does include a visit to the Vatacombs.
- Keep in mind that the Vatican and the Colosseum operates a strict no re-entry policy.
- You will skip all official lines, and they can be very long, up to several hours. However, on certain days like bank holidays, weekends, and religious holidays even for people who have already booked tickets might have a shorter line. This cannot be avoided, but these lines will be far shorter than the public lines.
- Cancellations can occur with very short notice. In this case, we will contact you and offer you alternative tour dates or issue you a full refund.
- For security reasons, we strongly recommend that you do not bring any large bags or packages.
- This tour is a walking tour, as no vehicles are allowed inside the Vatican, so please wear appropriate footwear.
